Hey! It's Been A While

Hello! Hey there. It's been a while!  Like months, and this just isn't cool with me.

Lately I've been on a hiatus, even with the full intention to write and curate so many moments going by.  Heres a quick update:  I'm still holding this Executive Assistant office job, dancing on the weekends at the theme park, and squeezing in free time with Chris all while trying to photograph and video it along the way.

Before the New year, Chris and I had an amazing 5 day trip to New York city - it was his first time!  I took a ton of photos and videotaped the whole trip.  I had to catch the whole trip on my iPhone - guess who forgot their DSLR charger.  Luckily - I had an Olloclip lens which made a HUGE difference versus just with my phone.  Unfortunately, I didn't upload all these photos and video; I started editing and never gave myself a deadline to complete it.  I'd face everything from technical issues to just a creative block and now looking back I feel horrible but SOO determined to finish.  For now - Better late then never...

Our camera was rocking with the rush hour traffic passing the Brooklyn Bridge, and that definitely made us anxious setting it on this ledge.  But we just couldn't resist a good view!

Navigating our way through the terminal to the Manhattan Ferry to view the Statue of Liberty.  It's not like the Ellis Island Ferry where you get off AT the Statue of Liberty, but you get pretty close to view it from the water.
FYI - this is a one way!  We found that out along the way.

(More to come along with the video that I WILL complete - ha)
But boy, I think I've learned my lesson...

Following through on something is so important!  I can't describe the bummed feeling of just letting projects and goals slip by (even for yourself, and not for others).  Listening to my daily personal development along with this experience, I see now that creating a deadline for yourself is key.  Even if its a month away - you've GOT TO create a deadline.  Remember when you were in school and had a paper due the next morning - well, you pulled an all-nighter.  Make it important, and do what it takes to meet that deadline, no matter how big or small that project is.  Additionally, tell someone that you are doing whatever it is you're doing.  This creates accountability - and that person serves as your "accountability partner".  If you don't have someone to hold you accountable, there's always social media - ha!  Making your goal public will always light a fire under your booty.

Stay tuned for the highlight video of the NYC trip by next weekend.  It will be fun to see how it turns out being the first time I used the clip on lens.
